Jerry Schmitt, Owner
Jerry Schmitt is a Southern California native, growing up in the Glendale area not far from the family carpet showroom, Jewell Carpets, one of the oldest carpet sales businesses in Los Angeles.
He left LA to travel the world with the US Navy for six years, serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga (CV14).
Upon returning home he worked at Jewell Carpets, strengthening his already considerable knowledge of carpet manufacturing and installation, until he purchased the company from his family in 1962.
Twenty years later he sold the carpet business to move to Sacramento and begin in a new field - contents restoration. In 1986 Jerry opened Jewell Restoration Services, Inc. with a small, loyal staff and a great deal of determination and integrity. Jerry felt that his years in Southern California taught that if one works hard and treats the customers well, there are no need for gimmicks and tricks. This Golden Rule of Business has been the foundation for the business that Jewell Restoration Services, Inc has steadily built on for the last twenty years.
Jerry's leisure time is divided between motorsports, bicycling and working out. NASCAR On Line
